Part of my design practice is creating book cover designs for various university presses and publishers. These contract assignments range in subject matter from scientific field guides to poetry, making each cover design a puzzle to parse out. But instead of puzzle pieces, I work with typography, photography, illustration, and the principles of design to compose each cover.
