Coptic stitch hardback | 10.5 × 6.25 inches | 64 pages | 115 photographs & illustrations

Created as an homage to my paternal grandmother and all the women who worked for the Women’s Army Corp during World War II, this handmade book features photographs my grandmother and her associates took with a little Brownie camera while she was stationed as a Constabulary Sergeant in Germany, Switzerland, and Japan between 1943 and 1948. Normally, I give form to other people’s content but this self-initiated project afforded me the opportunity to be a designer and an author, examining and coming to terms with part of my heritage.
