The purpose of Book & Mortar is to document Austin’s independently owned bookstores which are quickly disappearing spaces. The book is composed of five loose paperbacks each focusing on a different bookstore. The content consists of transcribed interviews with the owners and employees, plus photographs of their spaces. A brief review of each store and contact/location information is also included.
