about

Houston on the Move presents over two hundred photographs from the Bob Bailey Studios Photographic Archive. An unparalleled visual record of Houston life from the 1930s to the early 1990s. Many of the photographs depict downtown scenes containing large street signage for department stores, theaters, and pharmacies. Large, steel and glass, electric, and period specific, the typography within the book was chosen to reflect the stylistic language of these signs.
